Thesis on C02-emission trading
Our manager Jacqueline Jakob-Gallmann has completed her thesis on CO2-emission trading which she wrote in her free time. The thesis with the title “Regulatory Issues in the Carbon Market – The Linkage of the Emission Trading Scheme of Switzerland with the Emission Trading Scheme of the European Union“ was rewarded “magna cum laude” by the Faculty of Law and published on 5 December 2011 as volume 127 in the series of publications by the Europe Institute of the University of Zurich. Investors' trip from 3^rd to 9^th March 2012 to Panama
There are many reasons to travel to Panama: the smell of bananas that the little bear likes so much, the tropical climate, the Panama Canal, the 972 bird species, the contrast between booming city and unspoilt countryside, the rain forest, the mountain cloud forest, your trees – and currently the favourable dollar exchange rate and an new advantageous connexion between Frankfurt and Panama (three times weekly with CONDOR, on Thursdays without having to change airplanes). You will probably never be able to get to Central America so economically.
Our successful investors‘ trip offers a lot of information and on-site views. And the touristic side will not be neglected. And don’t forget: Strange things happen when you're abroad!

Tax value
The tax office of the Canton of Glarus defined a net tax value of CHF 83.30 per share per the 31^st December 2010.

Obituary
We are very sad to have to announce that our Director of the Board, Frank Werner Bosshardt, passed away on 16th June 2011.
Werner Bosshardt was a very active and committed Director from the outset of the rescue activity of Forests for Friends and was a trusted and reliable mentor to the executive directors. His decades of experience in sustainable business and in Latin America, his calm and prudent character made him an important partner and a focus member of the Board up until the end.
We have lost a committed comrade-in-arms and a friend. We will continue to care lovingly for Werner’s trees.

Annual Meeting 2012
The 6^th Ordinary Annual Meeting will take place in the afternoon of Monday, 7^th May, 2012 in Affoltern am Albis.

The fifth Annual General Meeting
took place in Affoltern am Albis on Thursday, 5^th May, 2011. 52 shareholders representing a total of 25'473 votes were present. This is equivalent to 48.33 % of the share capital.
All the resolutions were carried with a large majority.
